Flint Hills Chapter - Junction City, KS
The Flint Hills Chapter of the Military Officers
Association of America (MOAA) serves the
communities of Junction City, Fort Riley and Manhattan
and surrounding areas in Kansas. The chapter has over
100 members with 98% also being national members.
The chapter supports MOAA achievement awards for
JROTC programs in Lyons KS (Air Force) and Junction
City KS (Army) and the Army and Air force ROTC
programs at Kansas State University in Manhattan
Kansas. The Flint Hills Chapter is an active member of
the State Council of Chapters, supports the Kansas
National Guard and USAR and the National MOAA
agenda of advocacy, and education for military related
issues.

LaGrange is responsible for the
successful program “Help us
Learn…Give us Hope” that has
provided thousands of pounds of
school supplies for children in Iraq
and Afghanistan. The program is expanding to include
teaching of English by Iraqi teachers, related textbooks
and building libraries in Iraq schools. Many MOAA
chapters have donated money and supplies to the
programs.
The chapter meets quarterly with a social hour, buffet dinner
and a professional program. Past programs have featured the
former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Commanding
General of Fort Riley and the 1st Infantry Division,
Commander of Irwin Army Community Hospital,
MEDDAC, Fort Riley and the Kansas Director of the
Governor’s Military Council.
